Hello and welcome friends to another edition of this B1G Week. Last week was very important week for the Big Ten. The conference took part in the annual Big Ten ACC challenge and came out of it with a 8-6 victory over their East Coast/Northeast/Southeast/What the Heck Let's Call Louisville Midwest rivals. There were certainly some surprises. Sure there were people that thought Ohio State and Purdue could beat North Carolina and Virginia but who would've guess they'd both win by 25+ points. This just goes to show that this year's college basketball season is unpredictable (say they guys who write weekly college basketball predictions).
After the thrilling midweek games came the start of conference season. Every team except for Minnesota and Nebraska have a league game under their belts. Games continue this week, even leaking into next week as the final December game is a week from Wednesday.

Big Ten Game of the Week
Tuesday - 7 PM - ESPN 2 - Maryland @ Penn State - No team had a tougher draw for the December conference games than Penn State. The Nittany Lions have to play two top five teams in the span of four days. Penn State is a good team and has a decent chance to beat the Terrapins, especially after Maryland not impressing in their win over Illinois over the weekend.
Nonconference Game of the Week
Saturday - 3 PM - ESPN - Memphis @ Tennessee - You should what this one because it might be the last time it happens for awhile. Both coaches don't really like each other much which is leading to the end of a great rivalry. Seriously folks if you hate the other guy so much why wouldn't you want to keep playing them so you can beat them.

The big mover this week was Purdue, jump three spots to number 5. The Boilermakers had an impressive win over Virginia and followed it up with a victory over Northwestern. The biggest fall was a tie between Michigan and Illinois. Michigan was mainly due to Ohio State and Maryland looking impressive while Illinois was due to one of the worst halves of basketball possible coming against Miami.
